The Sacred Grove was amazing! The walk through it was so peaceful. We really enjoyed seeing the Smith Log Cabin and the Frame House. That weekend Steve and I were kind of having a hard time adjusting to everything and as we were in the log cabin the Sister Missionary that was giving the tour bore her testimony. She said that the Smith's were guided to Palmyra and were in the right place at the right time. As we were listening to her testimony Steve and I both got a reconfirmation that Boston is where we are suppose to be right now. It was so nice to be reminded of that at the time.
After the first week...week and a half...of craziness, we have started to settle in and really like Boston. The energy in the city is great...people are everywhere and there is always something going on. Within walking distance of our apartment there is a cute little bakery and yummy restaurants. The subway is a short walk from our house as well so that is a bonus. We love our neighbors too...everybody is so nice here (which we weren't expecting because people told us that the Boston bunch aren't so friendly). We've chatted with our neighbors that live a couple of houses down a few times. They are going to have me dogsit for them while they are out of town this weekend. In exchange for the dogsitting they are going to let us park in their driveway for a month!...we normally have to park our car 2 blocks away.
More good news....Steve got a job with a new clothing company...to help design their fall catalog! Steve's Dad is really good friends with the guy that gave Steve the job. His name is Dekel and he is a pretty big designer on the east coast. He has done a lot of design work for Polo. We are so happy about it and hope that it opens the door to more connections.
geese how many blogs can you have! I just found this one and I'm so glad I love hearing updates! so jealous you got to go to dinner with Jennifer and Steve's job sounds really cool.
